As a little background about Marion County’s Ag. history, Ocala was the very first meeting place for the Florida State Horticultural Society and remained the meeting place for a decade or more. This society, which I am on the board of directors, began with citrus farmers coming together to discuss how best to grow citrus and, later, other crops in N / Central FL. I have some *awesome* slides with all this information.
